ppp[0-x] are allocated as they are used.  There is no direct correlation
between any particular ppp device and the user dialing in.

pptpd assigns ip numbers from the pool specified in /etc/pptpd.conf, so
there should be no need to have different ppp configurations for them.

If you decide you really need to do something when a connection is made,
you can put a script in /etc/ppp/ip-up.d.  See /etc/ppp/ip-up to learn
what information is available in environment variables when these scripts
are run.

I am not sure I understand just which file you are referring to.

The editing needs to take place in /etc/pptpd.conf and
/etc/ppp/pptpd-options.  I am not quite sure what else to say.

I can say that you MUST use the RC3 kernel, ppp.lrp and pptpd.lrp for
this to work... I had difficulty with my RC2 until I replaced the kernel.
