In theory this should work.  I have not tried it myself though, and I it
is a very uncommon configuration so you will probably have to be proactive
in looking at logs and experimenting.  It could be a bug in ifup (any
messages in logs?) or in pump... can you use pump directly to activate
those interfaces?

Also, pump is known to have limited function compared to dhclient. You
might consider using dhclient if you find problems using pump directly.
