/lib/modules.

For reference:

Any contents of /boot or its subdirectories are stored in initrd.lrp, and
are loaded as the initial root filesystem image.  The only things that
should be here are those drivers absolutely required to get the rest of
the system loaded... such as ide drivers, scsi drivers, or network drivers
if you plan to netboot.
