I have a question about the cron setup in bering.

/etc/crontab seems to be in charge of running the daily, weekly, and monthly
cron tasks.

/etc/cron.d/multicron seems to handle the periodic (every 15 minutes) cron
tasks

Why aren't they all done the same way?  There must be a good reason, but I
can't figure it out...
