Not for all of them. Dave Douthitt has a few of the descriptions for his packages at http://leaf.sf.net/devel/ddouthitt/repository/ Most of them are named very similarly to, when not exactly as, the upstream software packages they contain. Google and freshmeat.net are probably good resources for finding out more about them.
