Okay, I see. Basically, like you, I will be running a samba/mail server
using fetchmail to retrieve ISP mail. The server will also run some
stunnel connections to remote locations. I presume the DSL router is
sufficient as a basic firewall. I only need the ssh port forwarded to
the internal server. Any other access I can tunnel through that same
port as well. 

A final question;-) Is login and password authentication handled
automatically by the DSL router?

Yes I would appreciate a copy of the manual.
