Not sure if it will help, but I compiled lspci against glibc-2.0.7 a few weeks ago . The binary is at http://fritzfam.com/brad/leaftmp/ If you grab lspci and pci.ids from that directory and run ./lspci -i pci.ids you can display which NICs are recognized on the PCI bus. (I think the -v option might even list the IO ports.)
