Hello! I am setting up an embedded backup solution for a client. It will be LEAF-based. Its original intention was to back up a couple of UNIX boxen. However, I've recently been asked to expand this to Windows servers.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might use for backup software on the Windows computers that will send their data to a Linux box to be backed up there? The Windows servers are currently using Veritas Backup Exec, but I don't think that is going to help me back up to a Linux box. I've seen a couple of options (Arkeia and NovaStor, for example), but they've been rather expensive: well over a thousand dollars. I'm not looking for a free-only solution, but I'm hoping to find a solution that costs less than some autoloaders... What I use on the Linux backup server back end is also flexible. I just want something that is going to be able to backup an entire Windows server system to a remote Linux box. Tar or CPIO for Windows, anyone? :) Tim Massey ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Get the new Palm Tungsten T handheld.
