Hey all.

Thanks for a GREAT AND EASY PRODUCT with the Dachstein-CD Image! I have
an old Dell Optiplex GXL 5166 (486 DX2 66 with 32MB RAM and onboard NIC
(3Com 509c series) and Netgear FX310TX (PCI running with Tulip module).
I was really able to get this thing up and running in only a couple
hours. And this is from someone that did not have a clue when he
started!!! Awesome!! The only real issue at the time was that the system
cannot boot from CD-ROM so I am running Floppy-boot and CD-ROM for
modules. :o)

Ok. All that aside, here is my dilemma.

I want to VPN out to my work using a client running Windows XP Pro and
Nortel Extranet Client. Before going the LRP box, I was running an
application in Windows called WindRoute Pro, and all I did was map the
following ports to get VPN working on the client. The WinRoute Pro
machine was NOT the machine I was VPN-ing from. All this on a DSL
Connection.

Create mapped port for ESP:
Protocol: Other 50
Listen IP: <unspecified>
Destination IP: the private IP address of the client PC

IKE port mapping:
Protocol: UDP
Listen IP: <Unspecified>
Listen port: 500
Destination IP: the private IP address of the client PC
Destination port: 500

Now, the Windows Client has a static IP of 192.168.1.25 and can get out
to the Internet.

Now, do I really need to load all the IPSec modules? I would think that
port mapping would be sufficient.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks all!

Dennis Christilaw
