Hi,

Well, I put that tiny 50k SOCKS5.LRP package on and copied a config file
from this mailing list. The config file was from somebody's Dachstein
setup, but using the same subnet as me. Does anybody know of a HOWTO for
socks5.lrp?

I added

ACCEPT loc fw tcp 1080
ACCEPT loc fw udp 1080

And I can connect MSN to the MSN network through the SOCKS proxy and
that all works fine.
Of course file transfers still do nothing.
I have no denied packets in my logs.

Daemon.log says something along the following lines.

SOCKS5 started
SOCKS5 init'ing conn from 192.168.1.1 to 207.something.or.other
Connect Successful
Connection abnormal termination

All MSN does is sit there and say connecting.

Can anybody tell me WHY MSN does not work through a NAT'ing firewall? I
forwarded the ports to my local machine, so at the very very least
shouldn't my machine work? I HATE not knowing exactly what the problem
is!!

Ta,

Jim.
