First off, thanks to everyone who replied to me. I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner.
In the meantime, here's what was written to me, and my responses: Matt Russell wrote: >>> dave, i would also check to make sure that the wireless card is in the right mode (ad-hoc, manual, ap, etc...) <<< It's in 'managed' mode, but after starting ./network start eth1 it just hangs. Erich Titl wrote: >>> Sounds like you want to run dhcpd on the wireless subnet. This requires a fixed address on the server side. I am wondering how your /etc/network/interfaces file looks like for eth1 Make sure your network card is up _before_ dhcpd starts. This is not always so with pcmcia. <<< Right now, it's not important about dhcpd. In fact, loading it pushed the stuff off my screen, so I just got rid of it. Also, another odd thing but might be related: If I cold-boot, run ./network stop eth1 then run iwconfig, none of my interfaces show they have wireless extensions, but eth1 (the wireless card) works. If I then run ./network start eth1 it hangs, but if I rmmod orinoco_cs then insmod orinoco_cs I can run ./network start eth1 without hanging (but the other problems still remain). I'm also thinking about moving up to full-on Debian until I can get some time to figure this out. I need a little more in the way of tools and capabilities for this Linux newbie. Also, I can also try and make an LRP out of NoCat as a 'thank you' to the community. :) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
