Run "netstat -lnp" to verify something (should be inetd) is listening for requests on port-80.


Verify your firewall is allowing web requests from the local network to the firewall.

Verify inetd is properly configured to start sh-httpd (likely via tcpwrappers).

Verify tcpwrappers is configured to allow access to sh-httpd via the local lan.

Verify sh-httpd is configured to talk to your local network.

Run tcpdump or similar to get an actual picture of what's going on at a network level, which can help point you towards the source of your problem.

You might also try actually posting some of your configuration files, so we can do more than guess at what your problem might be. See the SR FAQ: (URL at the bottom of all leaf-user list e-mail) for details on how to provide proper diagnostic information.
