Thank you Luis, Eric and the others.I'm trying to upgrade to 1.2.1 to get rid of the pppoe/ulogd MAC bug.
Do I need to restart with a fresh floppy with the new image and apply by hand all my (rather long and convolute) configuration details, or there is maybe a simpler procedure to transfer them?

For the moment it is very difficult to make an upgrade from diferent releases.
My best bet is: Start with a new floppy.
Eric suggested off-list to overwrite the old 1.2 kernel ( /linux ) with the kernel of the new 1.2.1 image. It works without problems. Be sure to copy the file syslinux.dpy too.
