Salute
I have setup Bering in accordance with Ch. 8 of the User guide and have
followed Jacques's advice and comment'd out ppp0 entries from the
interfaces file. Manually executing"startadsl" then brings up eth2
and mounts usbdevfs successfully as "none".
Now, because "provider" is not a valid shell command, I execute
"pon eagle" and this returns some entries for pppd and pppoa in
daemon.log - the main error that is reported states:
...pppoa...read(AsyncReadFromPPP) : Input/output error
So up to this point there are no ppp.log entries and the ISP chatscript is
not executed. Which brings me to an important admission of ignorance:
I do not know the correct device handle to use for the Sagem 800 !
in other words: if my serial port is ttyS0 for example, what will the
sagem attached to USB port2 be? What are the specific entries I should
enter for USB or is there a sample chatscript I can copy?
Help will assist me to take the 100th step...
Regards,
Shango
