I think you have to use /dev/sda instead of /dev/sda1 Have you try with a 1.44 formated floppy instead of 1.68. I use to have a similar prblem with a IDE LS120 drive booting a floppy. Bering recognise it as /dev/hdc. It only work with 1.44 format since I did not know how to specify the size of the floppy. (i.e i can not use something like /dev/hdc1680) Hope this help. Huy
