Daniel:

Thanks, but I need something able to handle a queue of outgoing mails; hence
the need for a more "sofisticated" program, like Qmail or Postfix...

If your after something realy simple for mail transfer ssmtp

it is decribed as: "simple MTA to get mail off the system to a mail hub"

ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/mail/mta/

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/mail/mta/!INDEX.html

I haven't tried it but if your after something small and don't want lots of
functionality. My guess is the smaller it is the less chance of compile
incompatibilities.
