Okay, so I'm a little ticked off. I ordered a "Dlink DWL-520" wireless pci adapter from Amazon.com last week, thinking that I was getting what was featured on the item page. Silly boy. What arrived in the mail this afternoon was INDEED a DWL-520, but not the original version as illustrated on the Amazon site.
I'd like to set up the -520 in my uClibc-Bering box in AP mode, so of course I was looking for a version with the Prism2 chipset. Something tells me that the version I received is one of the later editions of this card, withOUT the Prism2. This card is newer and flashy, with an integrated, sealed circuit unit on-board - no exposed chipset - and the circuit pack has a white decal on it. Mind you, it's not labeled as a "DWL-520+" unit, which we all know isn't a Prism. Can someone confirm for me that this will NOT work with uClibc-Bering-rc2 before I send it back? I haven't even opened the box, as I'm looking to RMA the item and look for a new one. And, if anyone happens to know, I'm assuming that the Netgear MA-311 will work with the wlan-ng drivers in AP mode. Am I correct on that? Thanks in advance, joe. -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup Search Smarter - get the new eXact Search Bar for free! http://www.exactsearchbar.com/ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.
