Joe,

Try to check different CF cards.
It looks like that not all CF cards are created equal. ;-)
A lot of the CF cards i have tried from smaller OEM manufacturers (i.e not
Sandisk) do not support the full CF standard and as a result the do not
operate well (or at all) in IDE mode.
Also if you are sure that is the bios that does not recognize the CF, put it
in another machine, write down how its been recognized (Cylinders, Heads
etc) and then add these settings to your machine.
