I helped several friends using BIND and moving to 'tinydns' would take some time and efforts. But I will try to move to Bering-uClibc and so go with 'tinydns', as I am sure both are good. Over the last weekend I even tried tinydns for my local subnets and it works great.
I have a couple of questions: - I notice that on Bering-uClibc, 'vi' does not work with multiple files (e.g. vi ipsec.*) and once inside the editor, it does not allow me to do some commands such as yank, repeating last command with '.' etc. Are there any settings or is there vim.lrp for Bering-U? - What command can I get to transfer files via FTP or HTTP (I use ftp and wget on Bering)? I do not think that 'sftp' will work with normal FTP server. Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: "michiel" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'M Lu'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2004 9:22 AM Subject: RE: [leaf-user] ANN: Bering-uClibc 2.1-rc1 Hoi Lu. Are you sure you need bind9. (witch extra function do you need?) I use bind 9.2.2 becouse of a windows 2003 and xp domain. (not on the bering-uclibc box) On the bering-uclibc box I run dnscache. Works like a charm. I have been looking at dnsmasq but I haved gotten it to work stable jet.(problems with the M$ 2003 domain need to dig in it more :-( ) Tinydns is a verry good replacement for a bind 8 setup. The most important one is BIND9, found in http://chinese-watercolor.com/LRP/hd/lrpfile.html. The other are wget, ftp but I think I can survive without them for a while. Could you help me to build the BIND9 package? Thank you. M Lu. ----- Original Message ----- From: "K.-P.
