Hi all,

I am trying to use the lcd4linux package on my beiring-uclibc router.
The firewall version is Bering-uClibc 2.1 rc2. When I start the program
(through the init script) I get the following error "Starting
LCD4linux:. darkstar# grsec: denied use of ioperm() by (lcd4linux:3203) UID(0)
EUID(0), parent (init:1) UID(0) EUID(0)". I know that it has something to do with the grsecurity patch the kernel
contains but I haven't found any way to set things properly.

Do you have any ideas how can I fix this?
I presume you're trying to use a display connected to the parallel port, and specified an IO port (like 0x378) in the config.

You should be able to use "/dev/parport0" instead (after loading the appropriate modules, of course) - this is the recommended way anyway, since using the old style IO addresses is deprecated in lcd4linux and may be removed in a future version.

I hope that helps,

Martin
