Dear list,

After installing dnscache.lrp my Bering logs show repeated
attempts by the Bering box to connect to the LAN over port 53. 

Of course, the default shorewall policy is to DROP all 
connections from the firewall to the LAN, so the port 53 ICMP
packets never reach the LAN.

Can anyone explain the firewall's DNS behaviour & maybe suggest 
a way of stopping these connections as they are cluttering the
logs.
