Does there exist, or is there a need to build a virtual environment similar to that of the Bering virtual environment? I read through the documentation of the Bering-uClibc environment, and it seems to work OK, but my intent was to compile a module. I ended up modifying the Makefile of the driver I was working with, hardcoded directly to the pathed 2.4.24 directory. This seems to have worked, and I am awaiting the results, but it seemed (atleast at the time) easier if I could have been in a virtual environment, moreso similar to the current Bering one.
Or, could I have updated the Bering virtual environment to the 2.4.24 source, applied the patch, installed uClibc libraries and been succesful in compiling the kernel and subsequent modules? I'm very interested in continuing, and would like other's input.
