That led me to find the problem. Apparently, the "sh-httpd.mime" file is
missing from the sh-httpd.lrp package in the
"Bering-uClibc_2.2_img_bering-uclibc-1680.bin" image I downloaded last
week.

The package "ssh-httpd.lrp" version 1.2.5 Rev 3 on the "Bering-uClibc
Packages" download page does now contain this file in "etc/".

Also, the latests release of Bering-uClibc 2.2.1 does contain the file.

I'm a bit puzzled - since that's exactly why I pointed you to the sh-httpd.lrp package on the packages page (to which you replied that you did, but didn't solve the issue). So, what has changed in the mean time that suddenly this package works for you after all? I can assure you, the package hasn't changed (it was checked into CVS on Fri Aug 20 21:00:37 2004 UTC).

I'm just trying to understand what went wrong (for example, if my suggestion would have needed a little more explaining to be useful).

I appologize if I made it sound like your suggestion was less than thorough. After downloading "sh-httpd.lrp" I saw that it was the exact same version number as the one in "Bering-uClibc_2.2_img_bering-uclibc-1680.bin". I did not expand it at the time because I reasoned that there would be a revision number appended if it were different than the original. I did not want to offend you by pointing out what I thought was an oversight.

Instead, knowing that all I needed was one file, I searched until I found a package containing that file. I found it in a package on Charles Steinkuehler's LEAF/LRP Website. Afterward, while composing my updated post, I decided to expand the "sh-httpd.lrp" from the packages page. I was surprised and puzzled to find the file there too. It is my practice to always follow-up with a solution post to close out a thread. I find it frustrating when I'm searching lists for answers and threads are left hanging loose.

Rather than go into this long explanation about why I went elsewhere and how I discovered there were two different packages with identical version numbers, I opted to simply state that the file was there. Besides, by this time the updated package "Bering-uClibc_2.2.1_img_bering-uclibc-1680.bin" had already been posted. After verifying that the new distro was complete, I posted my final reply.

Once again, it was not my intention to slight you. I was simply trying to give some closure to the thread.

Incidentally, as the note a the top of my last post indicated, until today I've been unable to post to any SF lists due to policy differences between my ISP and SF.

Regards,

Cal
