Let me add my thanks and congratulations to the Bering uClibc developers. As good as Bering 1.2 was, it has definitely improved in the most recent uClibc incarnation. My first firewall conversion from 1.2 went extremely well, and I'm looking forward to converting the other 3 production systems I'm responsible for.
It seems to me that the only ongoing maintenance this firewall will have is the shorewall bogons and rfc1918 files. The other two things I needed to have updated (NTP addresses and ISP DNS server addresses) are no longer an issue.
