Hello list! This is a happy Bering 1.1 user that feels that the time has come to upgrade... So I am setting up a new Bering uClibc 2.2.3 box. The Bering 1.1 box has a working pptpd (poptop) and I can connect from a Windows computer to it.
When I duplicate the settings on the Bering uClibc 2.2.3 box with the pptpd package from the "testing" area it does not connect. Windows complains that the remote system is incompatible. When I examine the logs in Bering the pptpd does not write anything and the ppp session does not start. There are no error messages from Shorewall so the packages are not stopped there. Debuging is turned on for pptpd and ppp. I comparead file sizes for the ppp modules in my old Bering 1.1 and uClibc 2.2.3. uClibc sizes are a few hundred bytes smaller except for the ppp-mppe module that is almost half size (12k vs. 20k). My working theory is that there are something missing in ppp in the uClibc version. If I remember correctly from installing Bering 1.1 there were different versions of ppp available but for Bering uClibc there seems to be only one. Anyone got pptpd working in Bering uClibc? /Lars ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
