Hi,
Hardware clock in Bering-uClibc_2.3-rc1 is
always 1hr faster or 8hrs slower than
correct time.
In a nut-shell:
hwclock show is 1hr faster than correct localtime and
hwclock -u is 8 hrs slower than correct UTC time.
Can you fix-it? Please help.
The clock is syncronized by ntpsimpl [ntpd] via
NIST timeserver at Maryland, USA.
Command/Result:
???# hwclock show
???# Mon Sep 19 20:54:38 2005 0.000000 <- Wrong
1hr faster than localtime for New York.
???# date
???# Mon Sep 19 19:54:43 EDT 2005 <-- Correct
localtime for New York
???# hwclock -u
???# Mon Sep 19 15:54:46 2005 0.000000 <- Wrong
8hrs slower than correct UTC.
???# date -u
???# Mon Sep 19 23:54:49 UTC 2005 <-- Correct UTC
Clock
???# date +%z
???# -0400 <--- Correct Timezone
Following are my settings:
#/etc/default/rcS
#GMT="" # Setting GMT="-u" does not correct the
# problem, my computer bios does not have
# facility to set GMT0, date and time is
# set locally via Award bios interface.
# So, I'm using localtime with GMT=""
#/etc/TZ
EST5EDT
Thanks.
Larry
