I've seen problems like this with lower-end switches that have small MAC address tables. You might check the specs on your various switches, as depending on how you have them "linked", you could be exceeding the per-port MAC address capacity. I had some old 3-com switches that would only support 4 or so MACs per port (IIRC)...if you hooked more than that many devices on one port (via a cascaded hub or switch), only 4 devices would be visible at the network layer at any given time. Of course, which 4 systems you could see varied depending on recent network activity. Nasty problem to debug if you don't know how your switches work. ...or something else entirely could be wrong...you don't provide a lot of detail to try and troubleshoot. - -- Charles Steinkuehler [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFDi5GzLywbqEHdNFwRAp5dAJ9XlutxV/p+wxj5kxeKRJ8k/BAKZQCfT4hx Bsgc3wz+pXaPY1UA/c8nXog= =sEOI -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
