That's very strange... It looks like your card is still not fully
supported... But I just saw on the madwifi page that they updated the HAL
with more cards supported. If you like I can compile the latest modules
and userspace tools, send me a mail offlist and I'll send them to you.

It's a good test to insmod the right modules by hand and use the
wlanconfig tools, maybe you see some more messages... But if you think the
compatibility may be a problem, don't bother and send me a mail for the
latest drivers.
