I have just purchased a Wrap PCEngines board and have
Bering-uClibc 2.3.1 running on it. However, the natsemi.o
network driver doesn't always work in a VLAN config.

I can work around the problem for outgoing connections
using the CLAMPMSS=1456 setting in shorewall, but
incoming connections to my web server can't get through.

I researched patching the natsemi.o source and rebuilding.
I haven't had any luck. The "buildtool.pl build buildenv" assumes
the latest version from CVS HEAD, but I need the build
environment for 2.3.1.

Does anyone know of a way to create a proper build environment
that would let me rebuild the 2.3.1 kernel after I patch it with
the natsemi patch for VLANS.

I planned to apply the patch from here:
http://scry.wanfear.com/~greear/vlan/howto.html#natsemi

and rebuild the natsemi module. The patch looks like it should install
cleanly on a 2.4.31 stock kernel.

Is it feasible to try this, or is recreating a 2.3.1 environment
impractical?

Thanks,
Larry Settle
