Totally agree. I think automatic blacklists are a seriously bad idea in general, and MailCanibal is a truly bad idea in particular (think of the case where gmail/aol/yahoo get onto the blacklist because of some user). However, B-U, just like OpenWRT, is modular for a reason, folks can load up packages or not and nobody is forced to use anything.
