I hate to speculate, but since no one had answered your question so far... I think the problem has something to do with the .iso format you are using. Perhaps when you "burn" an .iso image to a USB drive, it is the same (to the file media) as burning an .iso image to a CD Rom. If the size of the .iso image is less than the size of the CD or USB drive, the remaining space on that particular media is wasted! Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong!
