My honest advice is, get an external Ethernet one from your
internet provider.

If they bitch you about the goodness of the USB ones, reply
that you have a MacIntosh (there are no MAC drivers for them).

It is a lot easy to setup ADSL modems, they normally behave as
PPPoE devices.
