If speed is an issue you better run it from a CF disk or you build your own 
modules file and add it to a customized ISO image.

Adding modules is easy with:
/usr/sbin/build-modules 

But then you'd have to save it on the floppy as you said.

I'm sorry but the logic to load modules has changed and the previous syntax in 
the modules isn't supported any longer. In fact it was only useful - or at 
least used, in the case of ISO images - and in your case, so this aren't the 
news you are waiting for.

The beta seems to be rather stable - I believe we can build a 3.1 the next 
month with only a few changes.
