Take a look at your leaf.cfg. The following is noted there: # The first entry is the backup device. # The path is parsed in reversed order, packages on the first device listed will be loaded last. PKGPATH="/dev/hda1:msdos" I think you need to modify PKGPATH so the floppy device is listed first, followed by the CDROM. I'm guessing that a semicolon should separate the two. By the way, the "new" style (introduced in 3.0) of saving modules/configuration changes separately from the packages is excellent.
