Hi.

I'm not shure that 2.4 kernel has proper drivers for your modem.
Try to build Bering-uClibc v4 that has 2.6.32 kernel (it's in 
development now, currently buildenv located  in CVS un 
src/bering-uclibc4); but you'll need to configure kernel for your needs 
(at least - CPU family; it supports i686+ CPU by default, your CPU is 
actually i586; and possible - enable modem drivers).
