I'm testing the cards, they are fine.
When I try test with wisp-dist, I get this error:
Tx timeout! ALLOCFID=0000,TXCOMPLFID=0000,EVSTAT=000 ALLOCFID=0000,TXCOMPLFID=0000,EVSTAT=000 . . .
and can't access the system, have to reboot...
I'm trying put the kernel 2.4.24 on it. I port the patch to fit this kernel (I can send it if you wish), and build the kernel package. The pcmcia part always complain about changes of kernel, so I build by parts, but not working. I build a wdist.img that boots but stops on end of linuxrc, it can't call /sbin/init... like it wasn't mount anything... please, there is any more documentation about this???????

Tenho certeza de estar funcionando, pois testei outra placa e outra máquina. As placas se comunicam.
Talvez seja má configuração, nao sei. O maximo que cheguei foi ver que a outra maquina pegou o arp da estacao com wisp-dist, porem quando olhei a estacao estava estas mensagens que ocorrem frequentemente:
erro -19 reinicializing firmware (esta mensagem nao deu para pegar com certeza, mas algo assim) Tx timeout! ALLOCFID=0000,TXCOMPLFID=0000,EVSTAT=000 Alguma idéia?

I testing wisp-dist with a Orinoco silver, and I having some problems. I'm intend to use with a embedded system, but for while I'm testing in a normal pc. The system boot very well, it found the orinoco and I can set a IP and parameters on it. But I can't find it from another wireless card. I test the orinoco with a slackware 9.1 and it can communicate with others, but I can't do it with wisp-dist. I don't now if I have to do some more specific configuration, or can be module problem. When I try ping or ssh from the wisp-dist box to any other wireless device, I get a error, which is on boot messages too:
hermes @ IO 0x100: Error -16 issuing command Unable to disable port in orinoco_reconfigure
And I can't do anything else, I have to reboot the system. I was thinking about update the kernel, and the orinoco module, but I still having some kernel panics :) And I can't find where are the modules, if I can build a fresh kernel. I gunzip/untar root.lrp,initrd,local,etc... but still don't get how it works... any help? I have a felling that is not so simple :)
