My experience with bridge is the following, may be it will be usefull for you .... :
1) Test Layer 2 bridge: I tried to configure layer 2 in a Managed equipment => NOT WORK 2) Test Layer 3 (proxy ARP): I can't get it working at the begining. After hours of testing and trying to understand it, I configure layer 2, also: I configured a br0 interface, etc, etc. And then I set that Layer 2 bridging is not used, after this, the bridge begin to work!! I don't know what happen, but it seems that some settings of layer 2 are necessary for layer 3 to work (and it persists after you configure that layer 2 is not used). I performed a file compare between images (complete WISP images) before and after this configuration and I can't get any difference!!
