Howdy all. I'm using leaf/wisp-dist for the first time, hoping to setup two WRAP boards as a real simple transparent 802.11a bridge. This seems straightforward; on each board I setup eth0 and ath0 with the same IP (in other words, one IP per WRAP), then turned on proxy-arp bridging, and went on to the wireless settings. But when I go to set the channel, my only choice in the list is "Not Set." If I drop to the shell and do `iwconfig ath0 channel 1`, something odd happens; on one of the boards (the one with wifi set to client) it just gives me my prompt back (like it did something, although I can't tell from iwconfig that it did), but on the other (ap) it says:
Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) : SET failed on device ath0 ; Invalid argument. On both radios, an `iwlist channel` returns this: ath0 0 channels Current Frequency:5.2GHz ...the iwconfig doesn't look pretty either: -------------------------client--------------------------------------- ath0 IEEE 802.11 ESSID:"wrapbridge" Mode:Managed Frequency:5.2GHz Access Point: 00:0B:6B:34:B8:F2 Bit Rate:36Mb/s Tx-Power:off Sensitivity=0/0 Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:796F-6D61-6D6D-6177-6570-6B65-79 Security mode:open Power Management:off Link Quality:18/0 Signal level:-77 dBm Noise level:-95 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 ------------------------end------------------------------------- --------------------------ap------------------------------------- ath0 IEEE 802.11a ESSID:"wrapbridge" Mode:Master Frequency:5.2GHz Access Point: 00:0B:6B:34:B8:F2 Bit Rate:0kb/s Tx-Power:off Sensitivity=0/0 Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:796F-6D61-6D6D-6177-6570-6B65-79 Security mode:open Power Management:off Link Quality:17/0 Signal level:-78 dBm Noise level:-95 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 -------------------------------end------------------------------ ...needless to say, the overal problem is that the radios don't talk ;-).
