After experimenting with transactions that were out of date order, I
found that ledger does not complain when transactions are not in date
order. For example, ledger computed the balance for the following out-
of-date-order transactions:

2009/05/02 Opening balance
        Assets:Savings Account $100
        Equity:Opening Balances

2009/05/04 Withdrawal
        Assets:Cash $50
        Assets:Savings Account

2009/05/03 IGA
        Assets:Cash
        Expenses:Food $30

Do out-of-date order transactions affect any of ledger's other
reports?

Derek
