Ledger now builds as a 64-bit binary on Snow Leopard, using g++ 4.4 and Boost 1.40 (both from MacPorts). Note that you will need a patched Portfile to use g++ 4.4 on Snow Leopard, otherwise you'll get mysterious core dumps. I've submitted the fix to the MacPorts crew, so hopefully it will get in soon.
This work is on the Git 'next' branch, since I'm not quite convinced it's all ready for 'master' yet.
