After reading through the recent Ledger 3.0 performance, it dawned on me that I should include a section on performance improvement in the manual. Along with a discussion on the merits of the different periodic groupinf options (-V -M etc.) I wonder if there is anything one can do to ease ledger's load when parsing the Journal. I run my journal files through a script that executes "ledger -f *.dat print --sort d" back to themselves once a month or so, but that is for my sanity, I don't know if it helps or hinders the parser or not. Is there anything worth mentioning?
