There should be no need to. 10.7 and 10.8 don't change a whole lot in terms of processor architecture, and shouldn't break binary compatibility. That said, post upgrade, I tend to rebuild all my 3rd party libraries through MacPorts, just so I don't get into dependency hell down the road. If you can't tell which ports you actually wanted to install vs their dependencies, "port list requested" will list these (unfortunately without the variants used). As always, YMMV. - Zack
