ledger doesn't care what the filename is, as long as it is specified
correctly in the command line, the environment variables, or the .ledgerrc
file.

In the command line I gave I sued the filename from the orinator of this
conversation.

So the command should be:

ledger bal -f YOURFILENAME --period "until aug"
