Cygwin/setenv

Hi all-

I dug into it some, it looks like the setenv issue is due to the Cygwin 
stdlib.h wrapping the setenv declaration inside a #ifndef __STRICT_ANSI__ 
guard.

Is removing the -ansi flag (under Cygwin) likely to cause any problems?
