Really? My impression was that the main blocker was the high number
of outstanding bugs. There are certainly some bugs I'd personally
like to see fixed before a 3.0 release.
It would be great if you could give some insights into what needs to
be done and how people can help. If we all work together, maybe we
can get 3.0 out before the end of the year. I'm happy to help with
test cases and documentation, for example.
Based on what I heard, the following areas need work. John, it would
be great if you could give more information.
- Documentation: update the manual, update the NEWS file
- Add regression tests and update the planning TODO file;
