That's very similar to how I do bill splitting with my significant other.
Every bill I pay gets an automatic transaction tacked on that splits it in
half and puts half of the expense toward Assets:Receivables:SO. Then when
she cuts me a check I deposit it into checking and credit the receivables
account.
