Hi John,
Fantastic program! Thanks for making it.
I'd like to specify an annual exchange rate for tax purposes for converting
between Canadian dollars (CAD) to USD (the default currency).
The precise exchange rate requires many decimal places but I'd prefer if
the final account balances are just displayed rounded to 2 decimal places.
Can I add this preference to my .dat ledger file?
For example, lets say I have the ledger input new.dat:
D $1,000.00
; 2011 annual averag
; 1 USD = 0.98906920 CAD
; 1 CAD = 1/0.98906920 = 1.01105160286054807894 USD
= expr commodity == "CAD" and date >= [2011] and date < [2012]
; VALUE:: market($1.01105160286054807894, date, exchange)
2011/12/30 Hosting
Expenses:Hosting 10 CAD
Assets:Cash
$ ledger -f new.dat bal -X $
$-10.11051602860548078940 Assets:Cash
$10.11051602860548078940 Expenses:Hosting
--------------------
0
I'd prefer those accounts to be rounded.
I'm using the most recent version of ledger: 3.0.0-20120518
Cheers,
Andrew
