I'm afraid there is presently no way of shifting the starting day for the --monthly option. This would be easy to add, however, since there is already --start-of-week for doing the same to weekly periods. I think there should be a --period-shift option, which shifts the reporting period by whatever makes sense for that period. I will enter this feature request into Bugzilla.
