I already use "note", for another directive which allows you to insert a note to be rendered in an account's journal, it looks like this: YYYY-MM-DD note ACCOUNT "... some sentence..." e.g. 2013-12-10 note Liabilities:US:AmericanExpress "Called customer service, they said they would chargeback the duplicate fee from Macy's" A note is always associated with an account, and simply shows up in the journal (register) for that account, it's just a way for you to put a comment that will render.
