It's tax time soon, and we will all be getting lots of annoying and ugly PDFs which we would love to upload to spreadsheets and cross-check against our ledger data and make calculations on top of and what-not. Normally I wouldn't send an update on software, but extracting data from PDFs has been an untackled problem for years, very difficult.
I just discovered this beautiful tool: TabulaPDF http://tabula.technology/ This... well it just worked. I'm really excited. It's beautiful and easy, highlight the table and download to CSV.
